『虹の橋』の第２部作。

この詩は救いですが、
人間のエゴによる虐待が無くなり、すべての仔が生きる世界で救われますように…

 At The Rainbow Bridge
『虹の橋で』


There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
地上と天国をつなぐ橋があります。
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
いろーんな色があるので「虹の橋」と呼ばれています。
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,　
there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
虹の橋のこっち側には草原や丘、谷やお花畑があります。
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
愛されたペットは死ぬと、ここへやってきます。


There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
ここはいつも食べものや水が豊かで、春の陽射しに満ちています。
Those old and frail animals are young again.
年をとって元気のなかったどうぶつたちは再び若返ります。
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
傷を負ったどうぶつも再び元気な体を取り戻します。
They play all day with each other.
彼らは一日中、一緒に遊びます。


Some of them here by the bridge are different.
でも、ここには少し違うどうぶつたちもいます。
These pets were beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
愛されることなく、
いじめられ、打たれ、飢えていたどうぶつたちです。


They watch wistfully as their friends leave one by one,
to cross the bridge with their special person.
仲間がひとりずつ離れていき、
それぞれの大事な人と一緒に橋を渡るのを切なく見つめています。
For them there is no one, no special one.
彼らには大事な人はいません。
Their time on earth did not give them one.
地上にいた頃に特別な人と出会うことはありませんでした。


But one day, as they run and play,
they notice someone standing by the road to the bridge.
でも、ある日遊んでいるときに、
橋への道に誰かが立っているのに気付きます。


This person wistfully watches the reunions of friends,
その人は友人のペットとの再会を切ない気持ちで見つめています。
for during life, this person had no pet.
いのちのあった頃、その人には愛するどうぶつはいませんでした。
This person was beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
そして、その人は愛されることなく、
打たれ、飢え、虐げられてきました。


Standing there alone, one of the unloved pets approaches,
ひとりで立っていると、特別な人のいないどうぶつが一匹近づいてきます。
curious as to why this one is alone.
どうして独りでいるのか、不思議だったのです。


And as the unloved pet and the unloved person get nearer to each other,
a miracle occurs, for these are the ones who were meant to be together,
そして、ふたりが近づいた瞬間、奇跡が起こりました。
the special person and the beloved pet who never had the chance to meet while on Earth.
そのどうぶつはその人の愛するペットで、その人はその仔の大事な人だったのです。
地上では出逢うチャンスに恵まれることのなかった…


Finally, now, at the edge of the Rainbow Bridge,
とうとう今、虹の橋で
their souls meet, the pain and the sorrow disappears,
and two friends are together.
ふたつの魂は出逢い、悲しみや苦しみは消えていきます。
ふたりは一緒にいるのです。


They cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
彼らは一緒に虹の橋を渡り、二度と離れることはありません。
